Why Timeless Photos Matter: My 1995 Glamour Shots Find
I recently stumbled on my old Glamour Shots from 1995, and let’s just say… the soft-focus and feather boas haven’t exactly aged gracefully. But they did remind me why I love photos that feel timeless. The kind that still look and feel like you, no matter how many years go by.
That Time I Looked 14 and 37 at the Same Time: My 1995 Glamour Shots Era
Some people find old diaries. I found my Glamour Shots.
From 1995.
Picture it: shiny lipstick, teased hair, soft-focus blur, and enough attitude to rival a daytime soap star. I was 14… and somehow also 37.
At the time, those photos felt so glamorous. They were what everyone was doing: the ultimate “grown-up” thing. But looking back now, I can’t help but laugh at how much effort went into looking like someone I wasn’t.
It got me thinking about how much I value photos that actually look and feel like real life. The kind that still make sense twenty years from now.
Because trends fade fast. But genuine connection and real smiles never go out of style.
That’s why I aim for timeless in every session I photograph. Natural color, gentle direction, and real emotion. The kind of images you’ll still love when your kids are grown. Not the kind you’ll hide in a drawer next to your boa.
So yes, my Glamour Shots will live on as proof that not every trend needs to be followed. Most fade faster than we think. The photos that last are the ones that feel real and look like you.
If 1995 taught me anything, it’s that trends fade fast, but authenticity never goes out of style. Here’s me in 2025 ⬇️ I have a feeling this one will last quite a while longer than feather boas. 😉
